76TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

St. Lawrence College of Higher Education proudly and enthusiastically celebrated the 76th Republic Day on January 24, 2025, with great fervor and patriotic spirit. This momentous occasion marks the day when India officially became a republic on January 26, 1950, following its independence on August 15, 1947, with the enactment of the Constitution of India. The college campus was beautifully adorned with flags, balloons, ribbons, posters, and other decorations, creating an atmosphere of national pride and celebration. The celebration was a grand success, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone present. It not only rekindled a sense of national pride but also reinforced the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which form the foundation of our great nation.

A Report on day –out of B.Ed. students and teachers for movie screening (SkyForce)

On 30th January 2025, the B.Ed department organized a movie day outing of movie” Sky Force” for both students and teachers. The day began with the movement of our faculty members for their destination to the venue “PVR movies, V3s Mall Nirman Vihar. This event was part of the initiative to offer a relaxing and bonding experience outside the classroom environment. The primary objective was to enhance learning through the medium of film, promote teamwork and camaraderie between students and faculty, and allow a shared cultural experience that connects the classroom lessons to real-world contexts.

Workshop by the Red Cross Society

On February 17th, 2025, St. Lawrence College of Higher Education hosted an enlightening workshop on the topic ‘Substance Use Prevention in School Settings’ by the Red Cross Society, Delhi branch in collaboration with Indraprastha Power Generation Co. Ltd., Government of Delhi Undertaking (supported under CSR), National Institute of Social Defence, and Narcotics Control Bureau. The Red Cross Society’s efforts in conducting this session were greatly appreciated, leaving participants with a renewed sense of awareness and responsibility in shaping a healthier society.

Report on ‘No Fire Feast’ by Gourmet club

The "No Flame Feast" was an innovative and unique culinary event that celebrated fresh flavors and creative gastronomy without the use of stoves or ovens. This event provided participants with an opportunity to explore and enjoy a feast that redefined traditional cooking methods, focusing on raw ingredients, cold preparations, and innovative techniques. The event took place on 27th February 2025 at SLCHE and was attended by B.Ed students and was organised by the college’s Gourmet club. The "No Flame Feast" encouraged participants to showcase their culinary skills using fresh ingredients without relying on conventional cooking appliances such as stoves and ovens. The event not only provided an enjoyable experience but also inspired participants to explore new culinary possibilities beyond traditional cooking methods. With its emphasis on fresh and innovative flavors, the event truly delivered a feast like never before!

On February 19th, 2025, St. Lawrence College of Higher Education hosted a vibrant and enriching Pichwai Art Workshop conducted by Mr. Shikha in collaboration with Pidilite. The workshop aimed to introduce B.Ed. students to the traditional and intricate world of Pichwai painting, offering them an opportunity to explore its history, significance, and technical aspects under the expert guidance of an accomplished artist known for preserving and promoting Indian heritage arts. An important aspect of the workshop was its emphasis on sustainability in traditional art. Shark Tank Event

Our college hosted a Shark Tank event, where students were tasked with creating innovative solutions to real-world problems. The event was designed to simulate the popular TV show Shark Tank, where entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of investors. In our case, the students played the role of entrepreneurs, and the faculty members acted as the "sharks" or judges. Karnataka Bank Event

Our college hosted an informative event conducted by Karnataka Bank, focusing on financial awareness and banking essentials. The Karnataka Bank event was highly informative and interactive, enhancing students' financial awareness. It addressed professional options, internet fraud prevention, and banking services. By actively participating and responding to questions, the students made the session interesting. All participants got certificates at the end of the event, which included a quiz with prizes for the top winners. All in all, it was a worthwhile educational experience.

Our students showcased their creativity and talent in the Rang Bahar Rangoli Making Competition and Poetry Competition (Kavyotsav), and we are thrilled to announce their remarkable achievements. In the Rang Bahar Rangoli Making Competition, the team consisting of Damini Pawar, Priyanka, and Priyanka Kumari secured the 1st position Another team from SLCHE, comprising Seenu Kumari, Nira Kumari, and Priya, claimed the 2nd position in the same competition.

On the 2nd of April 2025, a highly engaging and creative Art & Craft workshop was conducted at St. Lawrence College of Higher Education for the B.Ed. students. The workshop, organized in collaboration with Pidilite. The primary focus of the workshop was on the traditional art of block printing, a technique that allows individuals to express their creativity through intricate designs on fabric. During the session, students had the opportunity to explore various block printing designs and apply them to a range of items such as dupattas, t-shirts, cushion covers, and more. The hands-on experience not only enhanced the students' understanding of the technique but also encouraged them to experiment with color combinations and patterns.

An Art & Craft Workshop was organized on 3rd April 2025 at St. Lawrence College of Higher Education in collaboration with Pidilite Industries Limited. The workshop was conducted exclusively for the B.Ed students with the aim of nurturing creativity, enhancing artistic skills, and promoting the integration of art into teaching practices. The session not only focused on the technical aspects of Mandala creation but also emphasized the therapeutic value of art in reducing stress and promoting mindfulness among learners. The B.Ed students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their creativity and personal interpretations of Mandala designs.
